Welcome to Orleans Park

Orleans Park Sixth Form is academic, creative, aspirational, active, forward thinking and inclusive. We continually strive for excellence in all areas and work hard to ensure that every student achieves success. We seek the highest possible standards from our students while helping them to develop towards a mature adult, ready to go into further education or employment. In 2018 students achieved 30% A*/A grades and 55% A*/B grades. Furthermore 33% of students have gone on to Russell Group universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, as well as the Royal College of Music, University of Creative Arts and the KPMG 360 Degree Apprenticeship Scheme.

The application process is now closed. Any applications submitted via UCAS Progress will be acknowledged and placed on our waiting list. Please ensure you have applied to other schools/colleges. It is unlikely that places will be offered from the waiting list.

Entry requirements for September 2019:

6 GCSEs at Grade 9-4 with at least 3 subjects at Grade 6 (or equivalent Grade B) including English and Mathematics at Grade 4 or higher. Some subjects have specific requirements (as shown on the individual subject page) and we strongly advise that students have at least a GCSE Grade 6 (or equivalent Grade B) in the subjects they will study at A Level.

About us

Orleans Park is an outstanding school and staff are committed to high quality teaching and learning in all subjects. Our aim is to provide a stimulating and caring community where each student is valued as an individual. We are dedicated to bring out the very best in every student and to enable them to succeed at Orleans Park and beyond, whether that is enabling them to move on to an academic degree course at university, take up an apprenticeship or perhaps to enter employment directly. We believe in excellence for all and this is our commitment to every student at Orleans Park. Orleans Park is a fantastic place to learn, be creative, develop and study. It is a happy Sixth Form where all of our students thrive. We all aspire to the highest standards in everything we do and this is demonstrated in the purpose and successes of our students in classrooms, on stage, in art rooms and on the sporting field. We value the contribution and achievements of every student at Orleans Park and we do our very best to nurture and develop their interests, abilities and talents. Our highly qualified and dedicated staff, excellent facilities and outstanding curriculum provide our students with stimulating and challenging learning experiences. In addition, our extensive enrichment offer involves students in a wide range of opportunities, challenges and experiences outside the classroom.

Facilities available

We opened a new Sixth Form building in 2015 with dedicated facilities in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, ICT/Computing, Media/Film Studies and Drama and Theatre Studies.  Students have a supervised Learning Resource area with access to computers and laptops, which is open from 8.00am to 5.00pm.  There is also a Cafe and social area solely for the use of our Sixth Form students.

Please note there is no student parking on site.

Additional support

We are able to support some students financially via the Bursary scheme.  Details are published during the first term of study.

Tutors, assisted by Heads of Year, support students’ academic progress and wellbeing, with every student receiving individual guidance during one-to-one tutoring sessions. Our university guidance programme ensures that all students are given the support required to ensure students can make informed decisions about their future pathways to higher education. A wide range of student leadership opportunities allow students to develop the confidence to become positive role models and leaders of the school community.
