Facilities available

At Shoeburyness, the accommodation for Years 12 and 13 is extensive. We have two exclusive study bases equipped with computer suites and quiet study/relaxation areas.

Subject areas have excellent facilities too, from purpose built Performing Arts studios to state of the art filming/ editing suites. The school also enjoys exclusive use of the Shoeburyness Leisure Centre during the day with its 30 station gym, 20m swimming pool and badminton/ basketball courts; so there’s every opportunity to stay fit and healthy.

Canteen facilities are great too, with a range of healthy meals at very reasonable prices which can be enjoyed in our spacious dining hall. We also use the dining hall for Learning Conversations, where you’ll be given one to one academic advice from our team of learning tutors in an open and relaxing environment, and as your service to the school, have the opportunity to share your expertise with younger students too.

Learner success

At Shoeburyness (Post-16) ‘Students achieve well thanks to consistently good teaching, and receive good guidance to help them in the future.’(Ofsted 2013) and we construct our learning pathways around them. In years 12 and 13, we continue to provide the same personalised pathways, along with outstanding care, guidance and support and a wealth of other opportunities such as guest speakers and timetabled academy groups for students to engage in. It is what makes us different. It is what makes us special: academic study in a really supportive community.
