Welcome to St John Bosco Arts College
In recent years, the college has been at the forefront of new approaches to teaching and learning. We became an Arts College in 2004; a Leading Edge School after being assessed by the DFES as a high performing school in 2012 and a Teaching School in 2013.
Inspired by the example of St John Bosco, the purpose of our Salesian
College is to react to the needs of each individual student, touching their
hearts and developing their talents and skills.
"Offering an outstanding education for girls, aged 11-18."
Welcome to Our Sixth Form
A warm welcome to St John Bosco Arts College Sixth Form
Our sixth form provision aims to provide our students with the highest possible academic outcomes, whilst allowing them to flourish as individuals. In May 2013, OFSTED officialy recognised the quality of the teaching and the progress made by our students as outstanding.
“Students who stay on into Year 12 and 13 are progressing quickly because of the outstanding quality of teaching they receive."
At St John Bosco, we combine academic excellence with extensive individual support, enabling each student to achieve their true potential whilst developing their own personal skills and qualities as an integral member of the community. We offer an outstanding and bespoke enrichment programme providing opportunities to become involved in a variety of cultural, sporting and charity events, alongside gaining additional qualifications and accreditation for the pathway followed. Students are provided with a personal tutor who will provide them with careers information and guidance and support them throughout their UCAS applications. We pride ourselves on the positive relationships that develop between students and their personal tutors, preparing our students for the challenges of an increasingly-competitive higher education and employment market.
The resources and environment provided for our sixth form students are excellent. Our study area and LRC offers access to the latest technologies, including Ipads, laptops, net books, workstations and research facilities. Students have access to their own cafeteria and common room, with similar facilities integrated into the new school. This positive environment has been created so that students can both work productively and relax appropriately.
As a Salesian College, we are committed to gospel values and a supportive ethos. You will find that we are interested in the whole student, recognising talent at all levels, welcoming students of all faiths and from all backgrounds. We encourage our students to play a fully active role within our wider school and community, providing every opportunity for our students to achieve their aims. You will find that we have the highest aspirations for our students and encourage a passion for success.
Please feel free to contact myself at any time, if you have any further questions regarding your application to our sixth form.
