Welcome to All Hallows Catholic School

MISSION STATEMENT

The Mission of our College Community is to travel together on a journey of learning
in the spirit of the gospel, within the traditions of the Roman Catholic Church,
aware of the spirit of the age in which we live.
All members of our Community are created “in the image and likeness of God”
and so deserve, and should receive, equal love, justice, respect and opportunities for growth and fulfillment.

OUR COLLEGE CODE

arises from our Mission Statement, which helps us all to understand that we are part of a learning community based on Christian values.

Respect faith in God
Respect yourself
Respect others
Respect the environment

Respect learning

About us

CARING

Students in our Sixth Form enjoy the benefits of being part of a smaller community than found in other colleges, with small teaching groups and a unique caring atmosphere, based on the Christian values which characterise the main school also..

DEMANDING

However, we also demand high standards and we will encourage and support each student in achieving the individualised target grades that we set.

WELCOMING

We welcome all students to our Sixth Form, not just those who have studied at All Hallows up to Year 11. At present our 6th form is enriched by thirty students from Italy who are following a one year A-level programme.

If you would like to join us, you can obtain more information about the Sixth Form college and arrange a visit by contacting the Director of Sixth Form.

Additional support

We award bursaries of £50 per term to 12 students in each year group. They are awarded on the basis of academic performance in GCSEs for year 12 students and in AS exams for year 13 students. Six students receive bursaries for achieving the top results in the year group and 6 receive them for performance in relation to Target Grades. The awards are intended to help students continue their studies, perhaps buying course materials, paying for expenses with university interviews or maybe treating themselves as a reward for their hard work! It is not always the case that the students who receive the bursary in Y12 also receive it in Y13, we are particularly pleased that some students who were set an AS Target Grade D based on their GCSE results, actually exceeded this target and were therefore awarded a bursary in Y13.

Learner success

All Hallows has a very successful 6th form college welcoming students from other schools, as well as our own students. Our 2013 A-level pass rate was an outstanding 97%, producing an average of 99.7% over the last three years, and 46% of GCE results were at grades A* to B. We have been rated as excellent in all three categories by ALPS, the independent analysts of sixth form performance and value added.

We are very pleased to have over thirty Italian students studying A-levels in Year 12 enjoying a year long experience of British education.
