Welcome to Carmel College
I always count myself lucky to be a member of Carmel College; it is a real privilege to work with such a group of talented and enthusiastic young people. Every year our students achieve amazing things. The exam results here are consistently amongst the best in the country and analysis shows that our students really fulfil their potential, both academically and personally.
This success is achieved because our team of outstanding teachers work with our students to motivate and enthuse them. They are real subject experts who are passionate and love working with students. Together with our highly committed support staff they will always go the extra mile to support and guide our students.
One of the great things about Carmel is the huge and exciting number of subjects available. Most students will choose from over 40 A Level and BTEC courses. There are also opportunities for those who want to specialise in Art and for those who have specific needs. For those who are over the age of 18 we are proud to offer a range of HE courses in conjunction with The University of Salford and The University of Liverpool. Whichever course you are interested in, our team will be delighted to spend some time advising you on the best choice for you.
As well as the academic courses, there is a huge range of different enrichment activities to choose from: the Duke of Edinburgh Award, sport, performance, trips and visits and charity work are just a few of the opportunities available.
Carmel is a Catholic College for the Community which means we welcome students of all faiths or none. Our ethos places great emphasis on inclusivity, excellence, the development of the whole person, and service to those in need.
As you can probably tell, I am really proud of Carmel College and the opportunities it can offer students. So take your time to browse this site or, better still, come and see us at one of our open evenings. I look forward to meeting you.

The programme covers several areas, including Ethics & Values, Careers Guidance, a wide range of Enrichment opportunities and a system for individual student reviewing and target setting. The programme also enables you to acquire qualifications in General Studies at Advanced Level. Critical Thinking is also offered as an additional subject to challenge those students of a high academic ability.
At Carmel, your personal, as well as your academic qualities, are highly valued. Therefore your Personal Achievement Tutor will monitor both your academic and personal progress and you can make an appointment at any time for guidance and support.
