Welcome to Nottingham Girl's Academy
Welcome from the Principal
I am delighted to introduce you to the Nottingham Girls' Academy through this prospectus. I am extremely proud to be the Principal of this new Academy which is sponsored by the Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust.
At the Nottingham Girls' Academy we have a clear vision for the future. We are determined that our girls are able to achieve well and leave us as confident, compassionate and articulate young women with the skills to support them through the rest of their lives. Through high standards in teaching and pastoral care we expect to prepare our girls well for entrance to higher education, high quality employment and the future careers of their choice.
Research shows that a single sex environment empowers girls to realise their potential. We will prepare girls to take advantage of all the opportunities which life offers them. The dedicated and specialist care we will offer will support this with our teaching focused solely upon the needs of girls.
We will foster a caring, supportive and happy environment which will encourage our girls to flourish. In terms of behaviour, uniform and Academy standards we are very traditional and have high expectations. We expect pupils to wear the full Academy uniform correctly, attend well, behave respectfully to others and to work hard.
We also believe that education is more than just academic success and aim to develop the whole person with a broad, balanced curriculum, a wide range of extra-curricular activities which we encourage all girls to take part in, as well a wide range of events during the year.
We have benefitted from new and refurbished buildings that give us new and exciting learning environments and enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
Working together, and with the support from the Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust, we will make the Nottingham Girls' Academy an outstanding organisation.
If you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
I look forward to welcoming you to Nottingham Girls' Academy.

At the Nottingham Girls' Academy we have a clear vision for the future. We are determined that our girls are able to achieve well and leave us as confident, compassionate and articulate young women with the skills to support them through the rest of their lives. Through high standards in teaching and pastoral care we expect to prepare our students well for entrance to higher education, high quality employment and the future careers of their choice. Our sixth form is now well established and offers academic challenge, with excellent tutorial support. We have been able to increase the range of courses on offer and, through our close links with the Nottingham Academy, can offer minority subjects as well.
Education is about more than just academic success and we offer our sixth form students many opportunities to grow as individuals through our volunteering schemes, work experience and Outward Bound activities. From September of this year, we have benefitted from new and refurbished buildings that give us new and exciting learning environments and enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
We welcome applications from our students at the Nottingham Girls' Academy and also from girls who are at other schools. An application form and the full prospectus can be found on this page. You will have the chance to meet with staff and discuss the courses at the Sixth Form Open Evening. There will also be an opportunity to try out the courses and find out what is involved at our taster days in July.
We look forward to working with you.
