Welcome to The Belvedere Academy 6th Form
The Sixth Form at Belvedere is special! The successes of the Sixth Form have, of course, been recognised by Ofsted with our "Outstanding" judgement in all categories, yet maintaining such high standards and building on our strengths is a focus for me and the Sixth Form Team.Experience has taught us that girls work better, develop more readily and have more confidence to stretch themselves in an all girls' environment. They learn, develop and grow as young women in a mutually supportive atmosphere with staff who, as Ofsted again pointed out "have an exceptionally incisive knowledge of their students".Behind every decision that the Sixth Form Team makes is a very clear question of what we think is genuinely in the best interests of our girls.Being a true "Belvedere girl" at Sixth Form level is no easy job and we like to contribute towards making the journey through Sixth Form. as enjoyable and rewarding as possible. We believe that positive relationships and knowing our girls incredibly well are central to providing the best academic and pastoral support possible. We consider it to be a privilege to work with such wonderful young ladies, and helping to prepare them for life after Belvedere enthuses us massivelyMy team's vision for the Sixth Form is in keeping with the academy's, yet with its own distinctive flavour. We want every Belvedere Girl to leave our Sixth Form as happy, knowledgeable, independent women, on a path that they have chosen to follow. They will feel confident in knowing that they have received the best opportunities, Enrichment, teaching and support that can possibly be offered and we want them to look back at their time at Belvedere fondly and proudly. If you would like to be part of our outstanding Sixth Form, that is supportive and enjoyable, and which offers you a personalised pathway to fulfil your learning goals, then I very much look forward to receiving your application.Miss E Palin
We like to offer our sixth formers more independence and encourage our students to be independent learners and to make sure that they, along with guidance and support from their teachers and form tutors, take responsibility for their own learning. We provide a personalised curriculum for our students and there are different paths that can be taken through sixth form. Whichever path a student takes whether it be the traditional four A Levels or another route, we have the same high expectations of each student and work hard to support her in achieving her potential.
Moreover, it is not only Belvedere’s academic results that make the sixth form the highest achieving all girls’ sixth form in Liverpool but the vast array of Enrichment activities that are on offer. Our Enrichment programme is second to none and we run clubs such as Duke of Edinburgh to learning Chinese or Arabic or perhaps having a go trying to knit a scarf at knitting club! As expected, there are also academic Enrichments that will support you in your A-Level studies and which run both at lunch time and after school. Some of our sixth formers even run their own Enrichments for the younger girls.
Our Sixth Form is a happy one where girls strive to do their best and where success is celebrated. We do have high expectations of our students that they will try their best in everything that they do and that they will act as good role models for the younger students.
