Welcome to The King's CE School

I feel privileged to be the Principal of this thriving Church of England comprehensive school. We are fortunate to be situated on a pleasant site in popular Tettenhall but our greatest assets are the 800 students and the team of colleagues determined to get the best from them.

We place great emphasis on the care we give to our students and we endeavour to know them as individuals. It is my absolute conviction that we all have talents and it is our job to help each student make the most of them. We definitely want to celebrate achievement and our concerts, productions, exhibitions and sporting successes bear testament to this.

We aim for excellence. This is evident in our recent examination successes. We will provide the very best education; our recent Ofsted (June 2013) told us we were “Good” in every category. Indeed, the government has just named us as one of its top 100 schools because of the progress our students make. It is how we accomplish this that sets us apart. We also understand that school life is about so much more. We are excited by our curriculum. We feel it provides opportunity for all. We have a rich programme of extra-curricular activities. What goes on outside of the classroom can and does make the difference.

We could not achieve all that we do without working in partnership. This is so important and our Parent Teacher Association and governor’s work tirelessly with us to help our students. We are definitely a community working together towards the same goals. We revel in our specialist status as a Visual Arts and Sports College with Science. This is important to us, enriches all we do and benefits our students enormously. It also means that we can work even more closely with our partner schools and the community. We are proud of these links.

Our new school has the most stunning of designs and up-to-date facilities. The best classrooms and learning spaces have been matched by new performance venues and studios: To this we have added a new swimming pool, running track and all-weather pitches. All of this has been backed up by huge technological investment so that we are one of the most advanced educational establishments in the country.
If you are moving into the area and have children of secondary school age or simply if you’d like to find out more about us, please do not hesitate to get in touch. You could always pay us a visit. We enjoy showing people around.

Those who do visit will encounter a very friendly school. We focus on relationships and we are proud to be a church school striving for excellence through diversity. We have a very distinctive church school ethos. Ofsted recognised this and acknowledged that within our school community, students show great respect for each other. Something we believe is relevant to all in Wolverhampton in 2014. There is something special going on.

Our emphasis is always very definitely on learning and teaching. As a Specialist Visual Arts College, also designated as a Specialist Sports College with Science, we are dedicated to realising the potential of all our students by providing opportunities for academic, creative, sporting and personal development. Each child is precious and in partnership with parents we support learning within our caring ethos.

These are definitely exciting times for us. Our facilities are outstanding and beautiful. Visitors quickly grasp this, but most important of all, they witness relationships which are second to none. We are passionate about what we do. Please come and see for yourself.
