Welcome to Tytherington School

Tytherington School is proud to be a comprehensive school. Our students come from a variety of backgrounds. They bring a range of skills and experiences into school and, by working with one another, develop both academically and as young people in a positive and inclusive learning environment. We want the best for each one of them regardless of their starting point. We believe that there is more in our students than they realise. We are committed to giving them the confidence to share that belief.

We have a close relationship with our partnership primary schools and we invest heavily in ensuring that the transition into our school is stress-free. In this way students feel safe, happy and confident firstly in Year 7 and then on through school. Many students choose Tytherington later in their education and they too are welcomed. Our relationship with parents and carers starts before the young person joins us and develops through effective communication and a shared approach as each year brings a new challenge.

As the learning journey continues, students enjoy learning in well-resourced classrooms in modern buildings with passionate and hardworking teachers who offer care, guidance and support in a broad curriculum of subjects.

We want all of our students to make progress and have choices as they get older. Students from Tytherington go to the best universities; some go straight into employment; others follow vocational training.

In an ever-changing world we breed resilience and flexibility by exposing our students to a variety of experiences both in school and within our network of partnerships in the UK and beyond.

The most common thing that visitors say about Tytherington is that the atmosphere feels right. We aim to keep it that way.
