Welcome to The Ripley Academy

The Sixth Form at The Ripley Academy is a thriving, positive and enjoyable environment for young people to pursue their post 16 qualifications.

The academic courses on offer are wide ranging and include both A level and BTEC qualifications at Level 3. There is also the possibility of taking some subjects at level 2. Outside of the classroom the Sixth Form promotes the importance of extra-curricular activities. We offer a number of sporting activities as well as opportunity to volunteer for initiatives such as the ‘Buddy Reading’ scheme where a large number of  our students help to improve the literacy skills of younger pupils. The Sixth Form also has a Duke of Edinburgh Award Unit. Not only do these activities help to develop our students into well rounded young people, they also benefit the rest of the school and the wider community.

We place a great deal of importance in pastoral care and for this reason each student is placed in a form group and allocated a personal tutor. These members of staff are always available to give advice and support as well as guiding their tutees in the often challenging task of writing applications for future employment or potential University places.

The Staff involved with teaching and tutoring the Sixth Form are all dedicated and committed to making the educational experience here both enjoyable and rewarding.
