Welcome to Isle of Portland Aldridge Community Academy

Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Sixth Form at IPACA.

The Sixth Form at IPACA opened in September 2014 offering a wide range of academic and vocational courses.

We aim to provide a high quality education and we will support you as young adults, not only to gain the qualifications you require, but also to develop the skills and attributes that will enable you to compete successfully in an ever changing global marketplace.

I am really pleased that you are considering joining the IPACA Sixth Form at this exciting time. I appreciate that you will be looking for an experience that is more than just about learning and I am confident that you will find what we have on offer interesting and a bit different from what you’ll see elsewhere.

Whatever your destination beyond sixth form you will want to develop your CV to include a range of extracurricular activities. At the IPACA Sixth Form you will find opportunities to take part in outdoor activities, making full use of our amazing natural environment. You can also spend time volunteering in the local community, working with younger students, gaining work experience or even developing your own business through our LEADer Programme.

There is a sense of belonging that is an integral part of IPACA. You will be attached to one of the Academy Houses and you will be encouraged to take a leading role in a range of fun and challenging house activities. You will also be assigned your own personal tutor who will guide and advise you throughout this important phase of your education. I am extremely proud of our Sixth Form, designed, decorated and co-managed by our students and I look forward to welcoming you in September.
