About us

Sixth Form education is an exciting and rewarding experience. As students you are in a transition period where progression and continuity are very important.

The aim of the Sixth Form is to ensure that you achieve academic success, and receive the best possible learning experience alongside increased opportunities to develop as an individual. This will prepare you to deal confidently with the demands and challenges you will face in the future whether in higher education, further education or employment.

It is important that you make a careful and considered decision to continue your education. A positive choice to join the Sixth Form means that you are wholeheartedly committed to achieving the best possible outcome to your courses as well as making the best of all the opportunities available to you.

Additional support

At QK we believe in creating a supportive pastoral environment. The pastoral team work through any issues that may be preventing a student from getting the most out of their Sixth Form experience. Ensuring that students meet QK’s expectations and tracking students’ progress are just some of the things that the pastoral team do daily.

Students have daily contact with their Tutor, who acts as their mentor and guide. Tutors monitor their students’ overall progress; tutors’ high expectations encourage students to reach their full potential.

The pastoral team is headed by the Director of Learning (DoL) who is responsible for the pastoral care of their year group.

Learner success

QK sixth formers enjoy academic and personal success at QK and beyond.

QK 6th form alumni have enjoyed a range of successes; from graduating with top degrees to working at world class companies. We empower every 6th former so when they leave QK they go on to make an impact in the wider world.

Our carefully calculated targets and rigorous tracking mean that most students reach their academic potential at QK. We love nothing more than seeing our students celebrate their achievements on Results Day in August, where they get the results they need for their next life step.
