About us

The Cornwall College Group is the county's largest education and training provider. We support 35,000 learners of all ages each year, 2,000 of whom are studying at university level. Our achievements are plentiful, and our proven track record of over 10,000 apprentices in the past ten years makes us the most successful provider of apprenticeships in South West England.

We know the world is changing on many fronts. The challenging local and global economy means you need relevant and industry-focused skills and qualifications to create the future you want. Our expertise is in teaching you these skills, and more, as a Career College for the South West.

During the past year we have asked employers, schools, universities, local communities and students to tell us how we needed to change to become more valuable, relevant and impactful across our communities.     • We are a small and friendly campus located in the heart of the bright and bustling town of Newquay.

      Specialising in animal, marine and surf science studies we have a reputation for being environmentally friendly and offering individual support in all aspects of study.

      We have a classroom at neighbouring Newquay Zoo and at Blue Reef Aquarium on Towan beach. These partnerships give you the chance to gain valuable work experience. We also have two classrooms on Tolcarne Beach, ideally situated for surf science and marine studies.

      Newquay is one of the ‘go-to’ places in Cornwall. It’s busy all year with locals, students and visitors, offers picturesque beaches, a bustling town centre and is a surfer’s paradise. Boardmasters, Europe’s only surf, skate and music festival, takes place there annually.

      On our campus you’ll find all the resources you need to help you on your journey to success. 

      In 2014 Cornwall College St Austell students achieved the College's best ever A-level pass rates, with 99.2% achieving A*-E.  

      It’s not all work and no play at Cornwall College St Austell you can find the student union situated in The Treg. It is a great place to chill with music, pool, table tennis tables as well as a whole range of other activities to participate in.

      There is also a student run shop which offers everything from student supplies to novelty gifts and phone top ups. Prices are very low and excellent value for money.

    • Duchy College Rosewarne is situated on a working farm on the site of a former Ministry of Agriculture horticultural experimental station.

      Our extensive beautiful grounds are spread over approximately 47 hectares and are an excellent horticultural resource with national plant collections on campus.
      We have a large variety of facilities to help you with your studies and these include our:

      Falmouth Marine School is a STEM assured college that specialises in Boatbuilding, Watersports, Marine Engineering and Marine Biology. We are dedicated to delivering excellent marine related courses which will improve your employability skills and to progress you on to further study.

      Our courses attract students from a wide age range across the UK. We have an excellent international reputation for our marine courses with superb facilities including boatbuilding and engineering workshops, a dedicated marine science lab and a well-equipped water sports centre.

      Our staff choices ensure that the right people with the right academic qualifications as well as experience are in charge of your learning and are delivering the best level of teaching available. We have strong links with employers and universities and have equipped marine-biology laboratories, marine-engineering workshops and excellent access to the sea for activities such as diving, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and more. At Falmouth we will give you the opportunity to explore the many activities that we offer through sports, trips and workshops.

      You can also take time out and explore Falmouth’s beaches such as: Castle beach - for the keen rock-pooler, Gyllyngvase and Swanpool for sunbathing, swimming and water sports and Maenporth for some quiet time. There are also swimming pools, water sports clubs, gyms and bowling.
