"The best thing about Gildredge House is the vibrant community."
"The Gildredge House Sixth Form offers many opportunities other than just learning."

Gildredge House Sixth Form occupies a pleasant leafy site on the edge of the South Downs within ten minutes’ easy walk of Eastbourne station and the centre of the town and close to its delightful seafront. Imposing Victorian buildings are complemented by a combination of more recent additions, providing light and spacious accommodation ideally suited to teaching and learning.
Our well-designed facilities also benefit from cutting edge information and communications technology throughout the site. Students can also take advantage of high quality sports facilities within easy walking distance, such as the astro-turf at The Saffrons, swimming at the University of Brighton and Tennis in the Park.
Our Sixth Form students have the benefit of a stand-alone wing, which we have renamed Temple Grove after the Preparatory School which occupied the site 100 years ago.
Our Sixth Form facilities are enhanced by a fast and accessible computer network, WiFi throughout the building and various hardware including laptops, tablets and digital screens.
Our Sixth Form students also take advantage of the subject-specific facilities throughout the rest of the site.
Learning in the Sixth Form is based on small groups working together with the best teachers available. Lessons are of the highest calibre and the collaboration and relationships between teacher and student are exemplary. Our smaller class sizes allow students to benefit from working with teachers who know how you like to learn best and who will share pride in your achievements.
Sixth Form students also have access to kitchen and common room facilities, as well as dedicated study spaces.
Upon enrolling into Sixth form, students are assigned to a Tutor Group, a point of reference for them each morning. Tutors are influential in supporting students on a day-to-day basis. The small Tutor Groups allow staff to get to know their students and tailor provision for them.
All Sixth Form students follow the Gildredge House Aspire Leadership Award. The Award aims to develop students’ ability to lead, to work as part of a team and to play a key role in the life of the school community and have an impact on the town of Eastbourne and the surrounding area. Students’ personal skills and qualities will be advanced by a number of leadership roles across a variety of different Year Groups, subjects and extra curricular activities inside and outside of school.
