Welcome to Greater Peterborough UTC
The Greater Peterborough University Tehcnical College (GPUTC) is a brand new school for 14 - 19 year olds specialising in engineering and the built environment whilst simultaneously teaching GCSE's and A Levels.
The GPUTC is a traditional school with all the facilities and assistance you would expect plus the benefits of links with employers, guaranteed job interviews on student graduation and an opportunity to learn by doing through one of our technical specialisms.
The GPUTC also offers employer projects, master classes and workshops that will give you real-life work experience. Sponsors of the GPUTC are Anglian Water, Peterborough Regional College, Larkfleet Group, Anglia Ruskin University and Marshall Aerospace.
GPUTC is complete with separate specialist engineering and construction workshops, individual, specially tailored science labs, computer design rooms, a top floor restaurant with roof terrace, communal zones and an enormous double-height event space.
There will be over 55 UTCs in the country by 2018 specialising in subjects such as engineering, science, creative and digital industries, entrepreneurship and IT.
Following a student survey of 850 UTC students, when comparing their UTC to their previous school, UTCs came out top in all aspects. See below the findings for why students choose to move to UTCs:
- 95% of students say due to the facilities and equipment
- 92% of students state because it is the hands on learning approach at UTCs
- 85% of students do so because of links with businesses
- 90% of students choose a UTC due to the opportunities for work experience
- 89% of students choose to move to a UTC due to the technical specialism
The GPUTC can promise you all of this and more. Come and join us in September 2018 to become an engineer, builder, designer or architect of the future.
