The school is a thriving, successful mixed comprehensive of some 1800 pupils based on a large campus. There is a sixth form of some 290 pupils. The school is located in the small town of Ammanford at the foot of the Black Mountains. Pupils attending the school come from a large catchment area which is a mixture of the rural and industrial. The school reflects and enhances the bilingual nature of the area.
The school has excellent sports facilities, including a sports hall, a swimming pool, a new astroturf for Hockey and Football, together with new Tennis courts. There is also a fine tradition of sporting achievements and other extra-curricular activities in the school. Many boys and girls represent their county and country in a number of fields. New members of staff will be joining a highly committed and caring staff.
As a school we take all matters regarding safeguarding seriously. All Child Protection concerns should be reported to the Child Protection Officer Mrs Eryl Roberts or the Head teacher Mr D. Stephen Perks in the first instance. Our Safeguarding link Governor is Mrs Jane Potter.
