Welcome to Rathbone Training

Rathbone Training is a UK-wide youth charity that helps young people to transform their lives through learning.
We do this by providing access to training and qualifications that enable young people to achieve their goals – whether that is a job, a place at college, an apprenticeship or a work placement.
We also run excellent youth engagement programmes, which offer practical support and positive experiences through activities like sport, music or art.
All of the young people who work with us can be sure of one thing. They will be supported, encouraged and challenged in every way possible.
We have a long track record of successfully supporting young people. Read our latest news to find out more.

About us

Did you know?
  • Last year we supported over 10,900 young people across the UK
  • We have more than 40 centres in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
  • Our work ranges from specialist provision for young people aged 14+ who are partially or fully excluded from school.
What we believe
Our work is inspired by the vision of our founder, Elfrida Rathbone, who believed that everyone could make progress through learning.
We believe that:
  • Every young person has the potential to achieve a positive future
  • Given the right opportunities and support, all young people can learn, progress, and succeed in their chosen career
  • There are no barriers to a future of positive achievement
  • Every challenge is an opportunity for success
  • Anti-social behaviour can be transformed into active and engaged behaviour
  • Young people in the youth justice system can be transformed into positive role models who make a real difference to their community
  • All young people can become young adults who play a positive part in our society.
