Welcome to Halls of Ivy Beauty Academy Limited

From an early age I've always had a passion for hair and beauty. I could always be found with a makeup brush or nail polish bottle in my hand, so when the time came for me to choose my career it was an easy decision, at the age of 16 I enrolled at Redbridge college and haven't looked back since.

After completing my NVQ Level 2 in Beauty Therapy, I embarked on an apprenticeship with Halls of Ivy for my NVQ beauty level 3, working at their salon and one day a week in their training academy. Whilst there I gained so much invaluable experience, choosing to do an apprenticeship was the best decision I ever made, because it allowed me to gain hands on in salon experience, having the opportunity to shadow all members of staff in the salon gave me an insight into all aspects of running a successful salon.

I was at Halls of Ivy for two and half years, after completing my apprenticeship I then rented a nail desk at the Peacock Parlour, after two years working in the salon and saving hard a chance arose for me to buy the shop and It was an opportunity I couldn't miss as I have always aspired to have my own shop, this took long hours and hard-work but the rewards were well worth it

I think it's really important to support student therapists and give them the great opportunities that have been offered to me. When you're starting out in a new industry it can be overwhelming, so to have some guidance and advice is a huge help.

Holly's Beauty Parlour takes up 99 percent of my time but doesn't stop me from making plans for the future which include expansion and generally keeping one step ahead of the industry.

I would 100% recommend Halls of Ivy as a training platform for any therapist new or old to the industry, there is always something new to learn and to keep training current.

My advice to apprentices is to do as much training and courses as you can, it's good to be trained in all accepts of hair and beauty and gives you more options to work in the industry.

I would like to especially thank Heather and the staff at Halls of Ivy for giving me the chance to work in the salon, I learnt a lot from them and it gave me a great start to my own career, which I am very grateful for.
